Zusammenfassung

OPT Industries, an MIT-spinoff, seeks a computational designer to join the product team in Medford, MA. You will work on new and existing product lines using our proprietary software and hardware platform, focusing on computational design at the intersection of geometries, bio-inspired materials and digital manufacturing.

This full-time, on-site role involves owning product development lifecycle, collaborating across teams, and exploring new applications for next-generation additive

Qualifikationen

• Master or Bachelor degree in architectural design, product design, mechanical engineering, or relevant design/engineering discipline.
• 3+ years work experience in related fields.
• Good sensibility for functional and aesthetic design.
• Must be a power user of Rhino/Grasshopper. Proficiency in other parametric modelling/VFX software is a plus.
• Effective communication. Comfortable working collaboratively.
• Open-minded and research-oriented. Open to new experience and empathetic to end user need.
• Proficiency in any programming languages is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Own the conceptualization, design development of commercial products.
• Research, design and test complex geometric according to materials and design requirements.
• Communicate with clients to understand design requirements and formulate actionable design ideas.
• Work with our Quality and Production Team to ensure manufacturability of products.
• Work with our Commercial Development Team to develop new applications.
