Urban A&O is a boutique design firm with multiple ongoing projects worldwide. We are an internationally recognized, award-winning architecture, landscape, and smart city master planning firm founded by Joe MacDonald in 2004 at Harvard. We specialize in carbon neutral/negative regenerative, design work based on circularity design principles, and are active in the data center space, mixed-use projects, and biophilic Health & Wellness and Longevity retreats, resorts, and interior fit-outs around the world.

We are based in New York City, but you could be located anywhere in the world. We work in a fast-paced environment and are staffed worldwide. This is an amazing opportunity for the right candidates. You will be working with the best designers and thinkers as peers.

AI Tool Proficiency -- Urban A&O Architecture Role

• Anthropic/Claude -- long-form research, proposal drafting, environmental studies, and client-facing documents.
• OpenAI/ChatGPT -- quick ideation, outline generation, design brief summarization, and image generation/inpainting for fast render iteration.
• Gemini (Nano Banana) -- high-quality photorealistic image generation from detailed architectural prompts; strong Google Workspace integration.
• Midjourney -- concept visualization and design exploration imagery.
• Perplexity -- fast cited research for material specs, codes, and precedents.
• AI Video production
