Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative life science field with strong research background.
• 8+ years modeling biological systems (population genetics, differential equations, stochastic or agent-based).
• Foundational knowledge of CRISPR-Cas systems and gene drives.
• Proficiency in Python, R, MATLAB or bash for quantitative biology analyses.
• Familiarity with standard bioinformatics workflows and NGS data analysis.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills, including clear visuals in PowerPoint.
• Active Secret clearance and ability to report to Arlington, VA full-time.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complex in silico models and assess computational pipelines for defense programs.
• Prepare concise, visual briefing slides and clean schematics for DoD leadership.
• Review CRISPR-Cas target recognition, off-target probabilities, and repair outcomes.
• Benchmark environmental dispersion models and assess biocontainment in target species.
• Support PI review meetings and stakeholder workshops, organizing technical interchanges.
