Job Details

• Title: Computational Biologist/Bioinformatics Scientist (Contract)
• Location: Remote (must be available during PST hours)
• Duration: 6+ Months
• Rate: $55-60 W2/Hr
• Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

• Analyze public and internal bulk and single-cell RNA data to support therapeutic hypotheses, target, and biomarker discovery, and develop novel therapeutics.
• Evaluate public and internal expression and/or proteomic datasets for target discovery, biomarker research, and development programs.
• Assess omics technologies computationally for implementation in clinical trials.
• Evaluate mechanisms of drug intervention in therapies for ocular diseases.

Qualifications

• PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related field with 3-5 years of experience; post-doctoral or industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in R and Python, with demonstrable experience in single-cell and proteomic analyses.
• Familiarity with cellular biology and ophthalmology concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and matrix teams.
• Contributions to scientific research in ophthalmology are desirable but not required.
