Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Service Technician to service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors and rotating equipment across the region. You’ll monitor sites, diagnose issues, and communicate needs while maintaining a stocked service vehicle.

Ideal candidates are self-starters with strong communication, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to learn through the Air Academy and on-site training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with rotary screw, oil-free and/or oil-flooded air compressors preferred.
• Strong communication skills and reliability essential.
• Must have a valid driver's license and pass background/drug screening.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods.
• Willing to learn and grow in a technical role.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors, pumps, gearboxes and rotating equipment.
• Monitor sites remotely and respond proactively to issues.
• Diagnose issues and recommend reliability improvements.
• Identify site repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
• Complete accurate service reports and communicate needs.
• Keep service vehicle stocked with tools and order parts.
• Respond to urgent calls and minimize downtime.
• Represent OTC professionally and build customer relationships.
• Follow safety protocols and stay current through training.
• Handle emergency service calls with speed and precision.

What You’ll Do

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment at our DIRECTAIR sites across the region.
• Monitor sites remotely and respond proactively to any issues.
• Diagnose issues and recommend solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Identify site repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
• Complete accurate service reports and communicate site needs.
• Keep your service vehicle stocked with tools and order parts needed at sites.
• Respond to urgent calls and minimize downtime.
• Represent OTC professionally and build strong customer relationships.
• Follow safety protocols and stay current through ongoing training.
• Handle emergency service calls with speed and precision to keep operations moving.
• Be flexible and ready to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in rotary screw, oil-free and/or oil-flooded air compressor service is preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude and organized work habits.
• Valid driver’s license; able to pass drug test and background check.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods.
• Coachable and eager to learn.
