This position serves the Department as a full-time comprehensive ophthalmologist. A comprehensive list of duties and expectations will be outlined in an MSP Physician contract upon appointment.
- California medical license
- Board certification required.
- MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) required
- Successful completion of an ophthalmology residency at the time of appointment
- No minimum work experience required
- Knowledge, training, and skills to treat patients needing comprehensive ophthalmic care at a level expected by the medical staff requirements of UC Davis Health
- Comprehensive understanding of medical and clinical sciences across a range of specialties
- Familiarity with current diagnostic methods, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices
- Knowledge restless of public health principles and infection control protocols
- Awareness of ethical, legal, and regulatory standards in healthcare delivery
- Understanding of hospital/clinic policies, documentation systems, and electronic health records (EHR) skills
- 95% – Comprehensive Ophthalmology Physician
- 5% – Administrative Duties

- Holding an agreed upon number of comprehensive clinics per week
- Perform surgery as necessary within the appropriate scope of a comprehensive ophthalmologist
- Perform incidental instruction as necessary to residents and fellows
- Perform administrative duties as required pertaining to the needs and expectations of a UC Davis Health physician
