Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with 2–3 years of manufacturing experience and forklift operation capabilities.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to follow specifications, formulas, and work instructions.
• Read, write, and comprehend English.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret alpha-numeric information.
• Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scales.

Responsibilities

• Produce batches that meet all quality standards and production requirements.
• Follow all compounding SOPs and GMPs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Complete assigned batches according to production schedules.
• Adhere to OSHA requirements and company safety guidelines.
• Minimize scrap and waste to support cost-effective operations.
• Ensure batch yields remain within acceptable ranges and report variances.
• Investigate and report yield discrepancies and process concerns.
• Dispose of scrap and waste materials safely and responsibly.
• Assist in equipment sanitation and preventive maintenance programs.
• Report equipment failures and operational concerns to the Compounding Lead.
• Support Lean initiatives, waste reduction, and 5S activities.

About the Role

Apex International is seeking a Compounder to join our Compounding team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for producing batches that meet quality, safety, and production requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Compounder plays a critical role in ensuring product quality by accurately weighing, handling, and mixing ingredients while following established SOPs, GMPs, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce batches that meet all quality standards and production requirements
• Follow all compounding SOPs and GMPs to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Complete assigned batches according to production schedules
• Adhere to OSHA requirements and company safety guidelines
• Minimize scrap and waste to support cost-effective operations
• Ensure batch yields remain within acceptable ranges and promptly report any variances
• Investigate and report yield discrepancies and process concerns
• Properly dispose of scrap and waste materials in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
• Help maintain equipment uptime by identifying and reporting equipment issues
• Support equipment sanitation and preventive maintenance programs
• Report equipment failures and operational concerns to the Compounding Lead
• Support Lean initiatives, waste reduction efforts, and 5S activities throughout the department
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

• 2-3 years of manufacturing experience
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to accurately follow specifications, formulas, and work instructions
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret alpha-numeric information
• Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scales

Preferred

• Prior mixing or compounding experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of chemical handling, processing, and manufacturing equipment
• Experience working with mixing tanks and related production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Continuous bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and climbing stairs
• Exposure to fragrances, ammonia, and other strong odors
• Work with alcohol and other flammable materials
• Use of forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring adaptability and attention to safety

Schedule

Weekday Nights: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

This is an on-site position located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Schedule flexibility is required based on business needs, production demands, customer requirements, and staffing levels. Additional hours beyond the regular schedule may be required to support operational and customer needs.
