Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Compounder in Dayton, NJ to prepare and process liquid and powder batches, ensuring high-quality outputs and strict GMP adherence. The role requires careful measurement, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fully onsite manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has 6 months to 1 year of compounding experience, familiarity with GMP, and the ability to follow detailed batch instructions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

This role works cross-functionally in a team setting and plays a key part in ensuring consistent, high-quality products through careful compounding and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

The Compounder prepares and processes a variety of liquid and powder batches by accurately measuring, mixing, and documenting raw materials in a production environment that follows strict food safety and quality standards. This role works cross-functionally in a team setting and plays a key part in ensuring consistent, high-quality products through careful compounding and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Responsibilities

• Retrieve and accurately measure ingredients using scales according to standard batch instructions.
• Mix various ingredients, including liquids, powders, dyes, and other substances, into production equipment following established formulas and procedures.
• Identify solid ingredients that require melting and safely melt them using hot plates.
• Identify ingredients that require dilution, dilute them appropriately, and record raw material usage in accordance with documentation requirements.
• Maintain quality standards by verifying the weight and contents of raw materials prior to use.
• Conduct in-process batch inspections to ensure consistency and quality throughout the compounding process.
• Document all process events accurately, including measurements, adjustments, and observations, in line with company procedures and policies.
• Process batches using liquid, powder, homogenizing, and spray dry methods of compounding as required.
• Check for consistency across various batches and measure the viscosity of mixtures using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Collect samples from each batch and deliver them to the laboratory for testing and quality verification.
• Follow all food safety guidelines and ensure accurate, timely documentation of work completed.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and GMP protocols at all times during handling and processing of raw materials.
• Wear required uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to support smooth production operations and resolve any process issues.

Essential Skills

• 6 months to 1 year of compounding experience in powder and raw material handling.
• Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment.
• Demonstrated ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols consistently.
• Experience handling raw materials in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to accurately weigh and measure ingredients using scales and other measuring devices.
• Capability to follow detailed batch instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Attention to detail in verifying weights, contents, and documentation of raw materials and process events.
• Ability to perform basic quality checks, including batch inspections and viscosity measurements.
• Willingness and ability to wear a uniform and proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Dayton, NJ.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
