Job summary

HEXPOL Compounding in Long Beach, CA is seeking a skilled production operator to support compounding processes, weigh and mix materials, and ensure safe operation of equipment across the facility.

You will monitor mixing conditions, check raw materials, maintain cleanliness to prevent contamination, and report issues to supervision. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform compounding, weighing, mixing, and processing of materials and safely operate equipment.
• Inspect raw materials for contamination by color, weigh and mix per formulations.
• Inspect scales for accuracy and operate equipment per procedures.
• Visually check batch mixing, report inconsistencies or process changes to the supervisor.
• Load materials and oil into mixer and mix per schedule.
• Monitor mixing conditions and adjust oil setup as needed.
• Keep mixer clean between batches and during changeovers.
• Keep mill area clean after each batch to prevent contamination.
• Maintain efficient machine flow to minimize production loss.
• Report problems to supervision and participate in solutions.
• Ensure area and equipment are safe before duties.
• Check safety equipment and wear required PPE per rules.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures during repairs or cleaning.
• Clean tools and maintain tool boards; keep area tidy.
• Keep equipment in safe operating condition and report issues to Maintenance.
• Participate in onboarding and training of new associates.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
