Job Description

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products - including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few - AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.



Coordinates with operators and support groups on day to day operations of the layup/autoclave area to ensure customer demand is being completed. Accountability for their assigned area or process as it relates to tools, tooling materials, calibrations, etc. to meet production needs and prevent upset or abnormal conditions from occurring. Train and mentor level I-III technicians. Work with senior technicians, peers, and support group members to facilitate process improvements. Reporting of daily/weekly throughputs vs goals to direct supervisor and higher levels of management in the event that the direct supervisor is unavailable.



Primary Responsibilities:



  • Work under minimal supervision. May shift manpower for their assigned area or process to meet production goals.

  • Ensuring operators have everything they need to perform the day to day operation of assigned area.

  • Reduced waste by over 15% utilizing lean manufacturing methods, recognized by management in yearly review for savings.

  • Work with engineering to ensure bill of material, work instructions and customer drawings were accurate for production build.

  • Executed safety requirements by conforming to the company standards and department procedures.

  • Supervised employees, instruct employees on company policies, company procedures and department guidelines. Recommend and initiated to direct supervisor on personnel actions such as promotions, employee evaluations, disciplinary actions and resolution of grievances, maintained production and time records.

  • Provide formal and OJT training to production workers as required.

  • Solves production related problems as necessary and notifies production supervisor/manager of any problems that do not get resolved.

  • Perform other duties as required and requested by management.
