Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a Composite Technician II to fabricate aerospace-grade composite components for production and development programs at Briggs, TX.

You will lead the fabrication of primary structures, tanks, and secondary hardware from raw fiber through delivery to integration. The role requires 5+ years of aerospace composite experience, advanced layup, bonding, and cure process expertise, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of aerospace composite manufacturing experience.
• Advanced expertise in layup, bonding, and cure processes.
• Demonstrated ability to build flight‑critical or high‑complexity hardware.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and meticulous craftsmanship.
• Proficient with pneumatic tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment.
• Experience in AS9100 or similarly regulated environment.
• Proven ability to mentor junior team members.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify scarf back plies and perform structural repairs

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and efficiency
• Support engineering in tooling and manufacturability discussions
• Maintain shop organization and PPE compliance

SUMMARY

Composite Technician II is an intermediate-level role responsible for independently fabricating aerospace-grade composite components for production and development programs.

This role supports the manufacture of primary structures, tanks, and secondary hardware from raw fiber through delivery to integration. Technicians at this level demonstrate strong technical skill and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Location: Briggs, TX (north of Cedar Park)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead fabrication of complex aerospace‑grade composite structures
• Execute advanced layups and structural builds with minimal supervision
• Perform advanced vacuum bagging and cure cycle operations
