Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech is seeking Composites Technicians in San Luis Obispo, CA, offering roles from entry level to advanced with compensation based on skills. This position emphasizes hands-on work with composite materials and required PPE to ensure safety and quality.

The team collaborates across engineering and production to fabricate, layup, trim, finish, or paint parts per documentation, while maintaining tools and supporting process improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to wear a respirator for up to eight hours.
• Standing for two consistent hours at a time.
• Able to lift 50lbs.
• Experience in fabrication, assembly, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Ability to read and follow schematics, drawings, procedures, etc.
• Ability to solve problems.
• Able to work together on a team.
• Follow verbal and written procedures, with good communication.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and listen to others.
• Safety and quality minded, strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Follow shop safety requirements and other relevant policies.
• Complete production documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Fabricate, layup, trim, finish, or paint composite parts per production documentation.
• Maintain production tooling following verbal and written instructions.
• Support improvement of processes and procedures.
• Support Engineering development as needed.
• Support problem solving activities for technical issues.
• Support the development and training of other team members.
