Touchstone Advanced Composites, a subsidiary of Core Natural Resources, is a rapidly growing supplier of high-tech tools and composite parts to the aerospace, space, defense, and other industries. We are seeking motivated individuals for the position of Composite Technician who enjoy hands-on work, attention to detail, and working in a team environment to produce high-quality products. This position will be responsible for performing a variety of routine hands-on operations, under moderate guidance and in accordance with company policy and safety procedures.

Target Responsibilities

  2. Perform composite repair, fabrication, and composite layup using hand tools to produce products for the aerospace, automotive, and space industries.
  3. Lay out, assemble, pre-fit, and bond a variety of composite or laminate fabrications, assemble parts or skins.
  4. Work with composites using pre-preg materials as well as performing wet lay-ups.
  5. Work with resins, carbon fiber, fiberglass, and foam materials.
  6. Sand and grind composite materials while wearing protective gear.
  7. Use table saws, bandsaws, jigsaws, and other common tools to cut a variety of materials, including polymer foam boards, composites, carbon foam boards, wood, and others.
  8. Use trowels and other tools to apply adhesive and bond materials together.
  9. Use manufacturing planning, written instructions, schematics, blueprints, and technical data to repair, fabricate, and modify composite structures.
  10. Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work area.
Required Skills and Experience
  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Ability to operate various hand tools and machinery.
  3. Experience in carpentry, autobody, or general construction.
  4. High attention to detail when sanding and blending coatings.
  5. Ability to use measurement devices such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, etc.
  6. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, policies, and procedures.
  7. Good manual dexterity for working with small parts.
  8. Problem-solving skills to recognize and address typical issues in own work area.
  9. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
