Job summary

AO Racing in the United States is seeking a dedicated Composite Fabrication Technician to fabricate and repair high‑performance parts for racing vehicles, using autoclave curing and vacuum bagging to meet demanding standards.

You will work with engineers and designers, maintain meticulous records, and stay current with advances in composite materials. This full‑time role requires long hours during race weekends and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in composite materials preferred.
  • At least five years of experience working with composite materials, with a track record in racing or high-performance automotive environments.
  • Strong knowledge of composite materials and fabrication processes, including autoclave curing and vacuum bagging.
  • Excellent attention to detail with focus on high-quality work and minimal errors/defects.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; willingness to work long/irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to travel as part of the role if required.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and repair composite parts for racing vehicles, including body panels, wings, and other components.
  • Use autoclave curing and vacuum bagging to produce high-quality composite parts.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to coordinate composite work with other team activities.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes to meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all composite work, materials used, labor hours, and processes.
  • Stay up to date with advances in composite materials and fabrication techniques; recommend improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment; ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Represent the team professionally on and off the track.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and repair composite parts for our racing vehicles, including body panels, wings, and other components.
  • Use advanced techniques such as autoclave curing and vacuum bagging to produce high-quality composite parts.
  • Work closely with other team members, including engineers and designers, to ensure that all composite work is properly coordinated with other aspects of the team's activities.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure that all composite parts meet the team's exacting standards for performance and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of all composite work performed, including materials used, labor hours, and fabrication processes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advances in composite materials and fabrication processes and make recommendations for process improvements as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Always represent the team in a professional and positive manner, both on and off the track.

  • At least five years of experience working with composite materials, with a track record of success in racing or high-performance automotive environments.

  • Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
