Job description

Description

This position is responsible for fabricating aircraft parts, accessories, and trim in accordance with technical specifications. Composite technician jobs are detail-oriented and involve crafting, sanding, bonding, assembly, and autoclave with a variety of composite materials.

Minimum Requirements And Qualification
  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Airframe license preferred but not required
  3. Three (3) years MRO/Military component repair experience desired
  4. Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments
  5. Working knowledge of related company instructions, processes, rework instructions, OEM manuals, and MSDS labels
  6. Working knowledge of production management computer systems and related internal control systems
  7. Specialized training in machine shop practices
  8. Must be able to maintain an airport SIDA badge
  9. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and overtime
Major Responsibility Areas And Duties
  • Read blueprints and tape measures to ensure project accuracy and completion
  • Read and use precision measuring tools and instruments
  • Operate hand tools, grinders, sanders, files, Dremels, drills, and ovens
  • Repair components as per manual and router instructions
  • Perform hot-bonding, wet lay-up prep, and curing using raw materials or pre-pregs, including glass and aramid fiber
  • Use adhesives and resins for repairs
  • Remove and repair damage in honeycomb and core panels
  • Repair thermosets and thermoplastics with adhesive bonding
  • Perform grinding, sanding, blending, deburring; operate power tools and equipment
  • Follow OSHA standards for PPE
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
Physical Requirements And Environmental Conditions
  • Climb and work from ladders, stands, and heights
  • Sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Hear at conversational level with hearing aid
  • Correctable near and far vision

Licenses & Certifications: Aircraft maintenance duties (preferred)
