Job summary

Role OverviewBased in Wichita, Kansas, you will support an FAA‑approved Repair Station focused on complex composite repair for Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 components. Your day blends precision craftsmanship with disciplined adherence to approved technical data to return critical parts to service.A day in the lifeOpen your work package and interpret SRMs, CMMs, AMMs, and airline/manufacturer-approved instructions to plan the repair.Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul on structural and non‑structural components made of fiberglass, acrylic, other composites, and select metal parts—often teaming with fellow specialists.Set up and operate multiple tools or machines as needed, managing several tasks without losing focus on quality or schedule.Fabricate, rework, and bond non‑metallic assemblies, applying deep knowledge of composite behavior and bonding techniques.Execute engineering‑aligned rework using digital content: work instructions, model‑based definitions, specifications, requirements documents, and MRB dispositions.Verify part dimensions using mechanical and electronic precision metrology; when required, conduct first article inspections.Capture, translate, and validate measurement data to meet engineering intent and top‑level requirements.Quality and compliance you ownMaintain all personal certifications required for the work.Perform comprehensive inspections, including first‑part reviews of procured and fabricated items.Initiate and document nonconformances for MRB action and follow through on dispositions.Conduct process surveillance to verify compliance with specifications and procedures.Create and preserve complete, accurate quality records.Use and interpret CAD/CAM (or similar) tools to fabricate, manufacture, or rework to the authorized engineering configuration.What you bringHands‑on expertise with taper sanding, lay‑up, and septum core remove/replace.5+ years of composite repair experience preferred.Selected candidates will complete a skills assessment during training.Phone interviews will be part of the selection process.Work environmentMay begin on 1st shift with a planned transition to 2nd shift per operational needs.Ability to stand and work for the entire shift is required.Willingness to work overtime and weekends as business demands.If you thrive on precision, teamwork, and seeing a high‑value component return to flight‑ready condition, this role is for you.
