We are seeking a Composite Quality Inspector to join our team. The primary goal of this role is to effectively inspect and validate requirements, supporting the overall Quality team to strengthen our processes. You will be part of the Quality Organization, ensuring the aircraft build meets engineering specifications while collaborating closely with production teams.

This is an onsite position based at our Mountain View office, due to the nature of the work involved.

In This Role You Will
  1. Inspect composite layup of detail parts with various geometric complexities.
  2. Inspect composite assembly of parts, including trimming, drilling, adhesive bonding, and final structural integration.
  3. Ensure process specifications are followed during layup.
  4. Accept products in our Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  5. Write Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) as needed.
  6. Represent the Quality Inspection Team in collaborations with manufacturing teams.
What You Will Do
  1. Support the composite inspection team, production, and engineering personnel through collaborative efforts.
  2. Assist in problem-solving activities arising from inspections and partner with Quality Engineering for root cause analysis and solutions.
  3. Coordinate and prioritize inspections as required.
  4. Contribute to defining future inspection techniques based on lessons learned.
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of related experience in a composite manufacturing environment, specifically in building or inspecting layup of composite parts.
  • At least 4 years of experience within the aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of composite clean room requirements, ply layup, interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, and analyzing autoclave cure data.
  • Practical knowledge of composite layup, assembly, and manufacturing of complex parts.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems and related processes and tools.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and perform measurements for inspection purposes.
Compensation and Benefits
