Job summary

AeroVironment seeks a Regular Composite Fabricator II to work with engineering staff, technicians, and vendors in the fabrication of tooling, structures, and components from composites and other materials. The role requires following design drawings and established processes and performing bonding/curing in experimental layup tasks.

The successful candidate will operate hand and power tools, use precision measuring devices, read blueprints, and adhere to safety requirements in a semi-routine

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years hands-on composite fabrication experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of layup processes.
• Knowledge in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges).
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
• Computer proficiency to download work instructions.
• Experience using hand/power tools (jitterbug, dotco).

Responsibilities

• Follows design drawing instructions and written process instructions.
• Works with Engineering in performing fabrication and assembly tasks and resolving tooling issues.
• Works with and fabricates tooling, fixtures, jigs from materials.
• Operates hand/power tools for cutting or trimming as required.
• Performs bonding/curing in experimental layup processes as required.
• Uses precision measuring tools to check work performed.
• Adheres to all safety requirements.
• Works on semi-routine assignments following established procedures.
• Applies acquired job skills and company policies to complete tasks under minimal supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.
