Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Union, WV is seeking a Composite Builder for the 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:00pm). You will assemble, cut materials, cure, and finish composite parts to meet customer expectations, using tools across manufacturing processes.

You will maintain traceability, and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure quality and on-time production. The role requires teamwork, ability to follow detailed work instructions, and readiness for safety training.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; 2 years of relevant experience acceptable in lieu of diploma.
• Experience reading blueprints and specification sheets.
• Ability to read military time and calculate time hours.
• Willing to wear a respirator and work with chemicals/paints as needed.
• Willing to become certified to operate forklifts and trained in cranes/hoists.
• Properly document materials used and understand traceability importance.

Responsibilities

• Arrange parts on carts to be placed into autoclaves.
• Monitor, track, and record cure data for parts.
• Clean tools and parts after curing.
• Monitor autoclave operations, gauges, and lights for deviations.
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors and resolve production issues.
• Cut materials for work orders as needed.
• Record gauge readings and test results in logs.
• Transport materials between work areas using carts or forklifts.
• Complete paperwork to maintain part traceability and accountability.
• Follow manufacturing instructions to assemble parts and read written procedures.
• Complete repetitive tasks on multiple pieces using hand tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tooling and machines.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and participate in continuous improvement.
