Our Aeronautics Systems sector is currently seeking a Composite Bonder level 1 to join our operations team, located in Clearfield, UT, working on bonds of dissimilar materials (composite, metal, or laminate) assemblies, parts, skins, components, equipment or structures into semi-finished or finished products.

Please note: Only external candidates and NG employees who are not currently aircraft structures mechanics at the Clearfield site will be considered.

Position Requirements:

This position requires no previous knowledge or work history working on aircraft. The candidate will undergo up to 6 weeks of training. Post-training, they will work under close supervision with detailed instructions and performance checks.

What you’ll get to do:
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Lay out articles, cut parts or materials to size, and apply bonding agents.
  • Understand ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes.
  • Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens for bonding cycles.
  • Control heat, pressure, and timing conditions according to specifications.
  • Sand, burs, and smooth areas; apply sealing resins to edges.
  • Monitor and verify product quality.
  • Complete repairs on bonded products following inspection and rework instructions.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • DoD Secret Security Clearance (applicants can apply without it)
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting over 25 pounds, working with chemicals, overhead work, climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, and tool carrying
  • Ability to access small, confined spaces and work in enclosed environments
  • Flexibility to work shifts including weekends
  • Pass medical/respiratory evaluations for respirator clearance
  • Pass a physical and complete new hire training as required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of AFAB Certification (various modules)
  • Experience with hydraulic parts, aircraft fabrication, assemblies, components, or systems in aerospace or related fields
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance within the last six years
  • Experience with structural subassemblies (rudders, flaps, stabilizers)

Salary range: $17.45 - $29.09 per hour. Compensation factors include responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
