Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of vintage or general aviation maintenance experience.
  • Experience with piston engine aircraft and related systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Restore, repair, and overhaul vintage and modern aircraft systems and components.
  • Inspect and sign off on your own work and the work of others to meet compliance.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation.
  • Use Buildbook to communicate project needs and monitor task completions.
  • Complete tasks per team production schedules and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Organize tools, fixtures, and equipment for efficient shop workflow.
  • Identify improvements to shop systems and processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in positive changes.
  • Maintain safe work habits and proper PPE usage.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Navigate libraries to access part drawings and manuals.
  • Provide own basic tools and demonstrate their use.
  • Collaborate as part of a high-performance team and engage in problem-solving.

This hands-on role ensures all work meets or exceeds the industry’s highest quality standards and complies with all regulatory requirements. The position directly supports the Component Shop and Repair Station by delivering reliable, high-quality aircraft components and systems essential to Restoration, Repair Station, and Fabrication projects. Reporting to the Component Manager, the role requires strong independence, technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing world-class results while upholding production processes, quality standards, preventative maintenance, shop organization, safety, and continuous improvement

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Restore, repair, and overhaul vintage and modern aircraft systems and components, including flight controls, landing gear, hydraulics, fuel, electrical, furnishings, and other aircraft systems.
  • Inspect and sign off on your own work and the work of others as necessary to meet compliance requirements.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, and documentation.
  • Effectively and proficiently use Buildbook to communicate project needs, maintain compliance data, and monitor task completions.

Production & Quality

  • Complete all assigned tasks according to team production schedules.
  • Work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Organize tools, fixtures, and equipment for easy accessibility to maximize efficiency.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to shop systems, processes, and efficiency to support company growth.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in implementing positive changes.

Safety, Professionalism & Teamwork

  • Maintain safe work habits, adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and identify/mitigate potential hazards.
  • Care for and perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Navigate AirCorps’ online and physical libraries to access part drawings, manuals, and other resources.
  • Provide own basic tools used in general aviation maintenance and demonstrate experience in their use.
  • Collaborate as part of a high-performance team with a positive attitude, openness to feedback, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet shop and company needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Rating required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in vintage aircraft maintenance or general aviation maintenance.
  • Experience working with diverse types of piston engine aircraft.
  • Strong experience with flight controls, landing gear, hydraulics, fuel, electrical, furnishings, and other aircraft systems.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the aircraft maintenance field.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
  • Manual dexterity, physical strength, and visual acuity required to operate tools, make adjustments/repairs, and inspect for defects.
  • Ability to stand, lie, kneel in awkward positions; work on scaffolding or ladders; and lift/pull objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Passion for aviation, historic aircraft, precision restoration, or high-quality craftsmanship is highly desirable.
COMPENSATION:

$27.00 per hour starting
