Y-12 National Security Complex is recruiting a Compliance Training Instructor in Oak Ridge, TN. The role oversees development and delivery of training across safety, environmental, and regulatory topics for a national security context.

Senior-level responsibilities include creating lesson plans, conducting classroom and simulator sessions, and aligning CBT/eLearning with the Learning Management System. DOE regulatory interpretation is a core component, with opportunities for professional growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• PhD is acceptable.
• Ten or more years of education and/or relevant experience may satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop training materials, including lesson plans and trainee support materials.
• Conduct classroom and/or simulator training (delivery and administrative responsibilities for each class).
• Assist in the evaluation of training programs across the site.
• Interpret DOE Orders, laws, regulations, and company procedures; recommend training options to maximize value to the customer.
• Research, formulate, design, develop, and implement CBT and eLearning materials.
• Develop and maintain linkage between eLearning and the LMS.
• Accountable for all direct output; perform other duties/projects as assigned.
• The Training Instructor will have industrial safety, DOT, and/or occupational health experience to deliver curriculum.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities

• Develop training materials, including lesson plans and trainee support materials
• Conduct classroom and/or simulator training (delivery and administrative responsibilities associated with each class)
• Assist in the evaluation of training programs across the site
• Interpret DOE Orders, laws, regulations, and company procedures, and recommends training options which will yield the most value to the customer, considering current in-house training available, alternatives to traditional classroom training, modification or development of new course materials, or contracting training/material/lesson plans from outside vendors
• Research, formulate, design, develop, and implement computer-based training (CBT) and eLearning materials.
• Develop and maintain linkage between eLearning and the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Accountable for all direct output assigned. Perform other duties and projects as assigned

The Training Instructor will have industrial safety, Department of Transportation, and/or occupational health experience to deliver curriculum.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Direct knowledge and application of DOE 426.2B, DOE-STD-1070-94, and DOE-HDBK-1078-94 will be required.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
