Job summary

Nwestco, LLC is seeking an experienced Compliance Technician to support petroleum service and construction projects by ensuring fuel dispensing and metering systems meet regulatory and accuracy requirements.

You will conduct inspections, verify calibration, labeling, sealing, and operation, and coordinate corrective actions with technicians and site operators. This is a field role with travel potential and robust safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Active DO/Weights & Measures Inspector Certification (state-specific, required).
• Experience inspecting, testing, or certifying fuel dispensers and petroleum metering systems.
• Strong knowledge of Weights & Measures regulations, NIST Handbook 44, and state codes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and accuracy testing of fuel dispensers, meters, and related equipment per regulations.
• Verify calibration, labeling, sealing, and operation of petroleum dispensing systems.
• Inspect new installations, repairs, retrofits, or relocations of dispensers and metering equipment.
• Identify non-compliant conditions and coordinate corrective actions with technicians and site operators.
• Issue inspection tags, seals, documentation, and compliance certifications.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and test results according to regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with changes to codes, regulations, and testing procedures.
• Use calibrated test equipment to verify meter accuracy, flow rates, and volume delivery.
• Attend safety meetings and follow hazardous location and vapor safety protocols.
• Communicate professionally with customers, site personnel, regulators, and internal teams.

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Technician to support petroleum service and construction projects by ensuring fuel dispensing and metering systems meet all regulatory and accuracy requirements. The pay range starts at $25/hr and goes up depending on experience and includes benefits, we are willing to train and there is a path for growth.

Your Mission:

• Conduct inspections and accuracy testing of fuel dispensers, meters, and related equipment in accordance with Department of Weights & Measures regulations
• Verify proper calibration, labeling, sealing, and operation of petroleum dispensing systems
• Perform inspections following new installations, repairs, retrofits, or relocations of dispensers and metering equipment
• Identify non-compliant conditions and work with service technicians, contractors, and site operators to ensure corrective actions are completed
• Issue inspection tags, seals, documentation, and compliance certifications as required
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and test results in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Stay current with changes to Weights & Measures codes, regulations, and testing procedures
• Use calibrated test equipment to verify meter accuracy, flow rates, and volume delivery
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to company safety policies, including hazardous location and vapor safety protocols
• Communicate professionally with customers, site personnel, regulatory agencies, and internal teams

What You Bring to the Table:

WE ARE WILLING TO TRAIN

• Active DO / Weights & Measures Inspector Certification (state-specific, required)
• ICC, UTAH UT & Manufacturer Certifications are a plus!
• Experience inspecting, testing, or certifying fuel dispensers and petroleum metering systems
• Strong knowledge of Weights & Measures regulations, NIST Handbook 44, and applicable state codes
• Familiarity with dispenser brands and equipment such as Gilbarco, Wayne, Tokheim, Bennett, and related systems
• Experience using calibrated proving measures, test meters, and inspection tools
• Ability to interpret inspection standards, identify deficiencies, and document findings accurately
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance
• Comfortable working independently in the field and managing daily inspection schedules
• Effective communication skills for working with technicians, customers, and regulators
• Solid understanding of safety procedures in hazardous (Class I, Div 1/2) environments

Before You Leap:

Some positions require travel and overnight stays. Travel expenses will be covered by Nwestco, LLC

All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of the following:

• Ability to pass pre-employment physical with extensive lifting (up to 75 lb), twisting, pulling, kneeling, and squatting.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug-screening and background check. This position is classified as safety-sensitive, it requires the applicant to pass a comprehensive drug test, including screening for marijuana, as a condition of employment.

Driving Requirement:

This position requires regular operation of a Company vehicle. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current, valid and unrestricted driver’s license, and have no DUI convictions or driver’s license suspensions or revocations within the past five (5) years. Employment is contingent upon verification of an acceptable motor vehicle record and meeting the Company’s automobile insurance eligibility requirements.
