Job summary

Nwestco LLC in Fresno, CA is seeking a Petroleum Equipment Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair fueling systems, tanks, and related equipment. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components, calibrate dispensers, and ensure regulatory compliance.

We offer a starting pay of $22/hr with experience-based increases, plus benefits, PTO, a 401(k), company truck, gas card, cell phone, laptop, and more. Some travel may be required with expenses covered.

Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience with fueling systems, including dispensers and tank systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment.
  • Experience servicing or installing POS systems and tank monitors.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic software and field service tools.
  • Ability to interpret manuals, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
  • History of safe work practices in hazardous locations and spill response.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair fuel dispensers, storage tanks, piping, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components of fuel systems.
  • Calibrate and test dispensing systems and POS interfaces for accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections and report deficiencies.
  • Respond to emergency service calls to minimize downtime at customer sites.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations (UST/AST).
  • Maintain detailed service records and test results for audits.
  • Interact professionally with customers, vendors, inspectors, and site personnel.

Your Mission
  • Install, maintain, and repair fuel dispensers, underground and aboveground storage tanks, piping systems, and related petroleum equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and service electrical and mechanical components of fuel systems, including sensors, leak detection, and monitoring systems.
  • Calibrate and test fuel dispensing systems and POS interfaces to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on fueling systems and report deficiencies.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and equipment failures to minimize downtime at customer sites.
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations, including UST/AST requirements.
  • Maintain detailed service records, test results, inspection logs, and maintenance reports.
  • Interface professionally with customers, vendors, inspectors, and site personnel.
  • Adhere to and promote all company safety policies, including lockout/tagout, confined space, and hazardous material handling.
  • Stay current with industry standards, manufacturer training, and certifications.
What You Bring To The Table
  • Hands‑on experience with fueling systems, including dispensers (Gilbarco, Wayne), submersible pumps, piping, and tank systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment, including circuit diagnostics and component replacement.
  • Background in servicing or installing POS systems, tank monitors (e.g., Veeder‑Root), and interstitial monitoring systems.
  • Experience working with tools, test equipment, and diagnostic software used in fuel system servicing.
  • Prior work in field service environments, responding to on‑site issues with minimal supervision.
  • Certifications or training such as Gilbarco Passport, Gilbarco Dispenser, Gasboy, FuelMaster, Verifone, Wayne Dispenser, ICC Service Tech Certifications, UST/AST operator certifications, or HAZWOPER.
  • Proven ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
  • History of safe work practices, including work in hazardous locations and spill response.
  • Strong customer service skills, punctuality, and ability to work independently or as part of a service crew.

Some positions require travel and overnight stays. Travel expenses will be covered by Nwestco, LLC.

  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment physical that includes lifting (up to 75 lb), twisting, pulling, kneeling, and squatting.

  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record over the past five years.
