Compliance Specialist – Medicaid Monitor - Special Education 2025-2026

Join to apply for the Compliance Specialist – Medicaid Monitor - Special Education 2025-2026 role at Mesa Public Schools.

Job Summary:

To coordinate all processes related to the Medicaid in the Public Schools program; and to support district personnel in the billing and compliance procedures to ensure accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with billing agency and Medicaid agencies to respond to inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Maintain Medicaid records, including service logs and online billing system, to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare student rosters for billing purposes.
  • Prepare records and reports for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Coordinate pre-authorization process as required by Medicaid.
  • Update and maintain list of current district Medicaid service providers.
  • Schedule and provide training on Medicare billing procedures.
  • Attend meetings and trainings to stay updated on Medicaid requirements.
  • Ensure regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the work unit.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of significant clerical experience.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Proficiency in typing and math with good accuracy.
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, and database queries.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work with numbers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Work in an office setting within the district’s administrative building or a school campus.
  • Occasional visits to schools for observations and training.
  • Spend significant time at a desk working on a computer.
  • Occasionally lift or carry materials under 20 pounds.
Additional Information:
