Job summary

Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to help assess enterprise-wide compliance, evaluate risk programs, and monitor standards across Fair Lending, HMDA, UDAAP and BSA requirements.

The hybrid role requires two days per week in the Melbourne, FL office, with strong collaboration across business units and a commitment to accurate complaint management and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
  • CRCM or equivalent credit union/banking compliance certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist business units with evaluating compliance risk management programs and regulations (e.g., Fair Lending, HMDA, UDAAP, BSA).
  • Maintain relationships with business units to influence compliance standards and risk.
  • Review complaints and surveys to identify compliance concerns and trends for improvement.
  • Serve as point of contact for intake, documentation, and resolution of member complaints in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with business units to investigate complaints, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of investigations and prepare reports on complaint activity and compliance trends.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist business units with assessing enterprise‑wide compliance, including evaluating compliance risk management programs and targeted regulations such as Fair Lending, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, UDAAP, Bank Secrecy Act, and other federal and state laws.
  • Maintain relationships and effective communication with business units to influence strong compliance standards and consider compliance risk.
  • Review and analyze formal complaints and member surveys to identify potential compliance concerns, trends, and areas for improvement as part of SCCU’s Complaint Management Program.
  • Serve as a point of contact for intake, documentation, and resolution of member complaints, ensuring issues are addressed in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with business units to investigate complaints, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate compliance risk.
  • Maintain accurate records of complaint investigations and outcomes, and prepare regular reports summarizing complaint activity and compliance trends for management review.

Education and Training

High School Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of training, education, and experience is preferred. NCCO, CUCE, CRCM, or equivalent credit union or banking compliance certification is preferred.

Prior Experience

1–3 years of recent and applicable regulatory compliance experience in at least one area: enterprise‑wide compliance, compliance risk management, fair lending, HMDA, and UDAAP. Minimum one year experience in SCCU Training, Underwriting, Processing, Servicing, or Loss Prevention may be considered equivalent experience.

Compensation

Starting Compensation: $24.74–$26.20 per hour. Bonus Opportunity: Eligible for one SCCU annual bonus.
