JOB OBJECTIVES:
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the administration and ongoing compliance of the Bank's Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Consumer Compliance, and Compliance Management System programs. The Compliance Specialist assists in monitoring and ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and Bank policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with day-to-day administration and monitoring of the Bank's Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti Money Laundering (AML)/Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) Program.
- Conduct and document suspicious activity investigations, prepare required reports, and ensure timely filing of applicable reports.
- Conduct HMDA reviews as a backup.
- Monitor and review the Bank's website for potential compliance issues and communicate identified concerns for appropriate follow-up.
- Conduct periodic deposit account disclosure reviews.
- Conduct miscellaneous compliance reviews.
- Assist with monitoring the Vendor Management Program.
- Conduct training on BSA/AML/CFT and Compliance policies.
- Gather and submit documentation for regulatory exams and internal audits.
- Update the Complaint Log.
- Assist with the Bank's New Consumer Loan Quality Review and Bank Risk Grade Review.
- Assist with the Citizens' Enhanced Loan Review.
- Reviewing consumer, mortgage and commercial loan turn downs and modifications for proper execution.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Possess strong analytical and research skills to evaluate suspicious activities.
- Ability to travel to branches and educational classes as necessary.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Ability to communicate with staff, Executive Officers, Auditors and Regulatory Examiners.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Planning and organizational skills to be able to prioritize workload and manage duties in order to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail is imperative.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. College preferred.
- Two years banking experience in progressively responsible positions.
- Working knowledge of BSA/AML/CFT related laws, regulations and monitoring requirements.
- Above average computer skills with ability to export and extract information into spreadsheets.
