Job summary

Joyce University of Nursing & Health Sciences is seeking a Director of Compliance to lead the Office of Regulatory Affairs, Accreditation & Compliance. You will translate requirements into practical processes across the university, partnering with leaders to ensure accurate, well-documented practices aligned with accreditation standards.

This is a high-impact role shaping compliance culture, multi-state authorization, privacy, FERPA, and continuous improvement across Joyce’s online and campus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in compliance, accreditation, or regulatory affairs within higher education, preferably nursing or health sciences.
• Working knowledge of federal and state higher education regulations, professional licensing requirements, and accreditation standards (NWCCU, CCNE, or ACEN).
• Experience supporting accreditation reviews, regulatory reporting, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
• Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex requirements clearly to different audiences.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, leaders, and external partners.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and thorough documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead marketing and communications compliance reviews for alignment with accreditation standards and disclosures.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting and annual filings for accreditors or regulators.
• Develop and deliver training for academic leaders, faculty, enrollment, marketing, and student services.
• Oversee student conduct and grievance processes with fair, policy-aligned outcomes.
• Monitor state authorization and distance education compliance across jurisdictions.
• Conduct compliance reviews and audits of student services functions.
• Coordinate privacy and data compliance efforts with IT, Legal, Enrollment, and stakeholders.
• Support FERPA compliance with the Registrar's Office.
• Translate regulatory changes into actionable guidance, processes, and training.
• Partner with university leaders to identify risks and strengthen processes.
• Maintain documentation demonstrating ongoing compliance and readiness for review.
