Base pay range

$23.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Florissant, MO that is seeking a Compliance Project Specialist. This position is required to handle projects that include charge corrections, credit balance research, and initiating refunds to meet compliance thresholds. Responsibilities:

• Conducts research of credit balances in assigned project or work list for insurance and/or patient for credit balance verification
• Initiates refund process to patient or insurance carrier after credit is verified, ensuring all requirements per insurance payer are met
• Make charge corrections when warranted by assigned project for insurance reprocessing to obtain revenue or meet compliance thresholds
• Make corrections on identified posting errors found during credit research process or refer to appropriate parties to ensure credit balance is eliminated
• Manage and maintain project work lists, ensuring completion deadline is met
• Serves as a backup to the front-desk receptionist
• Answers business office telephone calls in a professional manner; Transfers to appropriate personnel and/or takes accurate messages; Greets business office visitors in a friendly and professional manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Requirements

• Billing and Coding certificates is preferred or relative experience of five plus years in medical billing, physician experience is preferred
• Experience with project-based work assignments
• Experience identifying credit balances for both insurance and patient with knowledge of various insurance carrier refund requirements
• Experience with insurance follow-up, payment posting, account corrections in an electronic practice management system, and NextGen experience is a plus
• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
• Problem solving skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
