Job summary

Buffalo Run Casino & Resort seeks a dedicated BSA compliance officer to ensure operations follow all applicable laws, regulations, and internal controls.

You will lead audits, review CTRs and SARs, and coordinate regulatory visits, reporting findings to management. Requires 2 years in auditing or regulatory compliance, a high school diploma, some college preferred, and ability to obtain a gaming license.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years auditing or regulatory compliance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Prior technical writing experience with policies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and maintain regulatory requirements for Indian Gaming.
• Serve as operations liaison for audits and regulatory visits.
• Formulate and execute audit work plans with scope, techniques, and timelines.
• Perform periodic audits of casino areas.
• Review CTRs and SARs and ensure compliance.
• Develop and update internal control policies and procedures.
• Conduct Title 31 training for gaming operations staff.
• Maintain accurate policies and organized files.
• Assist in general audit functions as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Purpose

To ensure that the Casino operates within all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Act as the designated BSA compliance officer.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Assemble and maintain an accurate and current library of Federal, State, and Tribal regulatory requirements for Indian Gaming.
• Serve as a gaming operation liaison for compliance audits and official visits from regulatory agencies.
• Formulate and execute audit work plans, including scope, techniques, and timelines within the constraints of the audit.
• Performs periodical audits and follow-up audits of all gaming areas of the casino operations.
• Fulfill day-to-day operations of compliance, including timely review of MTLs and detailed transaction reports.
• Review and submit CTRs and SARs in accordance with FinCEN standards. Act as the main point of contact for all Casino team members regarding Compliance and Title 31 requirements and concerns.
• Collects and analyzes data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with gaming regulations, laws, internal controls, or policies.
• Review, recommend, and execute changes to internal control policies and procedures.
• Conduct compliance/Title 31 training for gaming operations team members.
• Assist in general audit functions as needed.
• Maintain accurate policies, procedures, and organized files.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/ Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some college education is preferred.
• At least 2 years previous auditing and/ or regulatory compliance experience or combination of experience and education required.
• Requires prior technical writing experience preferred with policies.

Work Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
• Requires problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
• Position involves prolonged walking, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds daily.
• Work is performed in a casino environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
