About June Point Lending

June Point Lending (JPL) is making homeownership possible and more accessible for a creditworthy but underserved segment of the market: business owners, self-employed workers, and real estate investors. Being enterprising and independent shouldn’t mean getting shut out of the housing market - we’re here to fix that.

We’re automating mortgage loan underwriting with the goal of instant, real-time decisions, resulting in wider access and affordability. This speed, certainty and service for our B2B partners allows them to serve more homebuyers, with the products they need, at market leading rates.

Role summary

As June Point's first dedicated Compliance Manager, you'll help build and expand on the compliance function while the company expands into consumer-purpose lending and new state licenses. You'll own the regulatory backbone of the business - state and federal compliance as well as licensing, vendor & counterparty oversight and management, corporate compliance reporting, and our company-wide compliance program. This is a hands‑on, individual‑contributor role with real latitude: you'll be defining how compliance operates here, building on the foundation that has been set.

Responsibilities
  • Product Expansion Support - Guide and support JPL's expansion into additional loan products (bank statement loans, consumer purpose loans) and new state licenses.
  • Compliance Management - Ensure policies and procedures are up-to-date as the business evolves and meets relevant state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Counterparty Approval & Oversight - Manage the vendor and broker approval process, including due diligence, documentation and ongoing monitoring of approved counterparties and vendors.
  • Corporate Reporting - Prepare and file JPL's corporate compliance reporting and mortgage call reports (MCRs) accurately and on time across all licensed states.
  • Policies & Procedures - Draft, maintain, and enforce JPL's compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current regulatory requirements and are updated as the business grows and scales.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience - Broad compliance experience within a mortgage lender, mortgage broker, or real estate company. Non-QM or wholesale lending background preferred.
  • Regulatory Fluency - Working knowledge of state and federal mortgage compliance requirements (e.g., TRID, RESPA, HMDA, fair lending, state-specific lending laws).
  • Startup Mindset - Comfortable building processes and systems from scratch as new problems, opportunities and situations come up. Resourceful, low‑ego, and willing to do the work personally rather than delegate it.
  • Judgment & Autonomy - Able to make sound compliance calls independently, know when to elevate, and balance regulatory rigor with the pace of a startup.
  • Collaboration Skills - Clear communicator who can work across sales, credit, and operations to get compliance embedded into how the business runs, not bolted on after the fact.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary and Benefits
  • Impact – You’ll work on an important and complex problem that is valuable to solve, not only for homebuyers but for the broader housing ecosystem.
  • Challenge - We are tackling novel and unsolved problems at the intersection of capital markets, credit risk, technology, and distribution.
  • Learning – Hands‑on exposure to every step of the mortgage process, with mentorship from experienced operators and underwriters.
  • Growth – The chance to take on more responsibility quickly and build toward being a process owner and builder, not just an executor.
  • Tools & Autonomy – Access to modern tech and the freedom to test new ways of working, automate tasks, and leave your mark.
  • Culture – A lean, collaborative environment where we value speed, clarity, and character over hierarchy.
  • Strong Foundation – We are backed by a leading fintech VC and a global investment bank. Our repeat founders and founding team have extensive experience building in fintech and mortgage lending. We know what it takes to build and scale in complex industries.
