About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead a team of Compliance Specialists and serve as the subject matter expert for an assigned portfolio of affordable housing communities. This role combines leadership and technical compliance oversight — ensuring regulatory requirements are consistently applied while coaching and supporting the team through complex compliance scenarios.
This position includes regular site visits and travel within the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of 4+ Compliance Specialists
- Perform second-level file reviews for LIHTC, PBV, HOME, Bond, and layered programs
- Provide guidance on student eligibility, income calculations, and complex compliance cases
- Manage audit readiness, including site travel ahead of agency and investor audits
- Review audit corrections and regulatory correspondence
- Partner with property managers to resolve compliance challenges
- Ensure documentation accuracy and regulatory alignment across all files
- Monitor EIV compliance and assist with HUD rent increase documentation (UA Baselines)
- Train new hires and implement regulatory updates and policy changes
Qualifications
- 5+ years of direct affordable housing compliance experience (file review and approvals)
- Strong knowledge of LIHTC, PBV, HOME, and/or Bond programs
- Experience with audit preparation and layered compliance programs
- Prior leadership or mentorship experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Certification such as HCCP, COS, or equivalent highly preferred
- Yardi Voyager experience preferred
Requirements
- Ability to travel to sites up to 75% of the time
- Must live within the assigned portfolio geographic area
