- Purpose of this Role: Own all aspects of the compliance communications and training program. Create and deliver consistently branded industry-related communications and training to employees and business partners. Be hands-on with creative elements, including writing concise content, developing engaging e-modules, and using training formats (webinars, video, infographics, etc.). Maintain training content and library in line with legal, regulatory, client, and industry developments and requirements. Research and develop high-quality learning content and comprehension testing, instructional design, and occasional live training. Develop training strategies to ensure effective training with appropriate resource use. Apply adult learning principles and use training development technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Training Program Management: Review client requirements, legal, regulatory, and industry developments; perform needs analysis against the current training library. Develop and implement training objectives and implementation plans. Develop, refresh, and distribute training annually. Monitor and report training program compliance and effectiveness, including costs. Identify and recommend process/content improvements. Stay informed on training and content management techniques. Apply adult learning methods to improve knowledge retention. Maintain a concise, relevant, accurate, and up-to-date training library; update or retire content as appropriate.
- Content Development: Research and translate complex topics (laws and regulations) into accurate, complete, and engaging learning content. Collaborate with subject matter experts for accuracy. Create engaging training using media such as Adobe Captivate (including simulations), PowerPoint, infographics, manuals, and recorded webinars. Apply instructional design techniques to ensure consistent branding and learner engagement. Assess training effectiveness with tests, quizzes, surveys, etc. Ensure content is appropriate for topic, risk, and audience to optimize resource use.
- Delivery of Training: Announce new or updated training modules as appropriate.
- Learning Management System: Manage the compliance content library in the LMS, including uploading content and keeping the library organized and current. Coordinate with Human Resources to identify the target audience and annual distribution schedule for training, ensuring proper assignments via the LMS.
- Document Management: Develop and maintain the compliance course catalog and related documentation. Create and manage internal training job aids, manuals, and content library. Maintain onboarding training documentation/materials.
- Communications Management: Draft client-facing notifications, distribute via email to defined contacts, monitor results, maintain distribution lists, and preserve distribution evidence.
- Customer Service: Respond to client inquiries timely, educate firms on training program creation and management, and provide analyses and recommendations to management, auditors, and regulators.
- Other: Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design; mortgage banking industry laws/regulations is an asset. Proficient with Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, and online course authoring tools. Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills. Time management, ability to meet deadlines, and work under pressure. Continuous improvement mindset and passion for education. Self-directed, highly organized, detail-oriented. Ability to adapt to change and work independently and collaboratively. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Clear speaking voice for audio narration.
- Ability to conduct research and convey information across webinars, calls, written content, and interactive modules. Project planning skills.
- Training and Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience in education, content development, or training. Experience in mortgage banking or compliance is preferred but not required. Undergraduate degree (or demonstrated experience) in education, learning theory, instructional design, or related field. Experience with online authoring, graphics applications, and multimedia tools (Captivate, Flash, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
