Job summary

Paxos is seeking a Compliance Investigations Manager to lead core financial crime investigations and regulatory reporting. You will shape the long-term compliance strategy, drive automation, and advance Paxos’ prevention framework in a rapidly evolving crypto and fintech landscape.

You will manage a team, collaborate across Compliance and business units, and ensure regulatory expectations are met while enabling growth and innovation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in Transaction Monitoring and Investigations operations.
• 4+ years in financial crime compliance team management.
• Understanding of AML, KYC and Sanctions regulations.
• Strong writing capable for regulators, auditors, and law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of operational objectives of the Compliance Investigations program.
• Scale the investigations team to support business growth with sustainable risk management.
• Manage and develop metrics to determine the health of the investigations program.
• Oversee end-to-end investigations from KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring and blockchain analytics.
• Lead a high-performing team fostering accountability, learning and growth within Compliance Operations.
• Evaluate technology used in the investigations process including automation.
• Be a senior member of the Compliance team guiding other workstreams.

The Opportunity

The Compliance Investigations Manager will lead the execution of core compliance objectives, including financial crime investigations and regulatory reporting. In addition to operational leadership, the Compliance Investigations Manager will play a key role in driving strategic compliance initiatives aimed at strengthening Paxos' financial crime prevention framework. This includes contributing to the design and execution of long-term compliance strategies, enhancing investigative processes through automation and analytics, and ensuring the program evolves in step with regulatory expectations and business innovation.

What You'll Do

• Oversee implementation of operational objectives of the Compliance Investigations program
• Scale the compliance operations investigations team to support business growth in line with sustainable risk management and compliance support
• Manage and develop key metrics to determine the health of the compliance investigations program
• Oversee end-to-end investigations on a range of cases triggered from KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring and blockchain analytics.
• Lead a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth within Compliance Operations
• Evaluate ongoing technology utilized in the investigations process including but not limited to automation
• Be a senior member of the Compliance team where you help to guide and provide support to the other workstreams

About You

• 6+ years of experience in Transaction Monitoring and Investigations operations processes including hands on experience executing investigations and drafting suspicious activity reports
• 4+ years of financial crime compliance team management experience
• A fundamental understanding of AML, KYC and Sanctions regulations
• Strong writing capabilities where deliverables are to be reviewed by regulators, auditors and law enforcement
• Experience managing operational data sets including reporting KPIs/KRIs to leadership
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to develop and implement process improvements based on business initiatives and compliance insights.
