Essential Functions
  • Maintains an awareness of corporate compliance and ethics practices, developments and trends, notably within a health insurance environment. Consistently seeks opportunities to improve the Corporate Compliance & Ethics Program and develop a corporate culture of ethics and compliance.
  • Develops, procures, and delivers creative content and useful tools that assist management and associates in understanding their roles and responsibilities in acting ethically and complying with company policies including all laws and regulations that apply to CareFirst.
  • Analyzes, develops and presents internal and board ready detailed reports of data collected from the annual ethics survey breaking down the results to reveal company and departmental trends.
  • Develops, reviews and revises Compliance and Ethics departmental SOPs as needed, but at least annually.
  • Promotes an environment that supports CareFirsts core values serving as a role model for ethical behavior to foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
  • Creates, plans, coordinates, and implements activities for increasing the visibility and awareness of the Corporate Compliance & Ethics Program, including compliance and ethics week activities across the corporation as well as ongoing activities throughout the year to ensure associate awareness of compliance, ethics, values and privacy.
  • Acts as lead liaison with agencies and entities examining CareFirst to evaluate our Corporate Compliance & Ethics Program, gathers, collates, provides and submits documentation as requested/required.
  • Develops, updates and maintains, with assistance from the CareFirst Web Administrator, the Compliance and Ethics intranet website.
  • Assists with the annual Conflict of Interest/Compliance Certification campaign and assists with tracking to completion all Conflict of Interest/Compliance Certification forms.
  • Various duties as required to support the Corporate Compliance Officer, Director Compliance and Ethics, and the Corporate Compliance & Ethics Program.
Qualifications

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 8 years Advanced knowledge of ethical, corporate compliance with demonstrated ability to apply elements of the Federal Sentencing Guidelines for organizations.

Licenses/Certifications
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), or equivalent within 1 Year Required
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of compliance program development and maintenance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and shift priorities.
Salary Range

$80,640 - $160,160
