Job summary

Stuart Rush, a private manufacturer of hoist equipment, seeks a Product Compliance Specialist in Damascus, VA to support domestic content and chemical/material regulations, and to partner with NPD on certifications.

You will lead proactive compliance programs, manage declarations of conformity for CE/UL/CSA, keep certifications current with Sustaining Engineering, and collaborate cross‑functionally to prevent regulatory issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering with 4+ years in compliance domains (Prop 65, REACH, BABA/BAA)
• Strong written communication for compliance correspondence
• Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, and sales teams

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses supporting domestic content compliance under BABA/BAA and state laws.
• Respond to customer and distributor requests about hazardous chemical compliance and issue statements as needed.
• Help build a proactive hazardous chemical and materials compliance program with an RSL and supplier declarations.
• Scope and execute product certifications (CE, UL, CSA, SGS, TÜV, BV) with NPD and third-party bodies.
• Keep certifications current with Sustaining Engineering after design changes or standards updates.
• Track evolving standards relevant to industrial hoist equipment.
• Maintain compliance documents in SolidWorks EPDM/PDM system.
• Flag and resolve supplier-driven compliance risks.
• Other duties as assigned.
