BlueWater Resort & Casino seeks a Compliance Specialist to support the Compliance Department in meeting regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include researching for information, submittals, and notifications to the Tribal Gaming Agency and the Arizona Department of Gaming, and assisting with monthly reports and policy reviews.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with multiple departments.

Qualifications

  • One year compliance experience or equivalent; high school diploma minimum.
  • Associates degree is required or preferred; three years gaming experience.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Windows; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in regulatory research, submittals, and notifications to the Tribal Gaming Agency and AZ Dept. of Gaming.
  • Assist in reviewing monthly reports and documenting results for departments and Casino Administration.
  • Maintain filing of memorandums and correspondence with agencies and internal departments.
  • Assist with policy review and distribution of compliance communications.
  • Attend meetings with Director of Operational Compliance and Title 31/Compliance Manager as needed.
  • Perform operational audits under supervision.

SUMMARY:Responsible for providing support to the Compliance Department in all areas of regulatory compliance requirements.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists to research for information, submittals and notifications to or from the Tribal Gaming Agency or the Arizona Department of Gaming.Assists in reviewing monthly reports, prepare reports, document results and forward to the department involved and Administration of the casino.Assists with retention and filing of memorandums and correspondence to the Tribal Gaming Agency, Arizona Department of Gaming and Casino Administration.Assists with review of Policy and Procedures for various departments.Assists with writing, filing and distribution of correspondence from the Compliance Department, to and from Tribal Gaming Agency or the Arizona Department of Gaming and the Administration of the Casino. This may include coordinating meeting times with departments or management and/or the Tribal Gaming Agency, if applicable.When required, may attend meetings with or for the Director of Operational Compliance and / or the Title 31 / Compliance Manager to take notes of the meetings.Performs operational reviews (audits) under the direction of the Title 31 / Compliance Manager and / or the Director of Operational Compliance.Compliance Specialist will act as the go to person for Compliance related matters in the absence of the Title 31 / Compliance Manager as designated by the Title 31 / Compliance Manager and / or Director of Operational Compliance by memorandum.Ability to work flexible hours, shifts, or days as determined by business demands.Maintain compliance and always adhere with all applicable laws, gaming regulations, internal controls, Employee Handbook, and policies and procedures.Complies with BlueWater Resort & Casino rules and regulations and ensures that all employees are in compliance, and complies with Federal, State and Tribal laws.Ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.All other duties as assigned and / or directed (maintaining segregation of duties).KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures.Must be proficient in standard office procedures and equipment.Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act / Anti Money Laundering / USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC Regulations.Knowledgeable in Word, Excel and Windows.Ability to work with minimal supervision is a must.Problem solving skills much needed to clearly present ideas and findings to management and other departments.Knowledge in compliance, attention to detail, thoroughness, organization, analyzing information, PC proficiency, data entry skills, and general math skills.Verbal and written communication skills.Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:One (1) year compliance experience or equivalent work experience or Associates Degree required: High School diploma minimum. Must have at least three (3) years gaming experience.Must be proficient in standard office procedures and equipment, attention to detail required, and knowledgeable in Word, Excel and Windows.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
