Job summary

Column is seeking a Compliance Analyst for a fixed-term remote role with an initial six-month contract. You will support the Compliance Testing function across Column and partner programs, documenting findings and reporting results to strengthen the regulatory control environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in compliance or audit, and possess strong communication skills. Certifications like CRCM or CAMS are a plus, and there is potential for extension based on

• Experience navigating banking regulations and applying rules to the Bank’s products.
• Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to juggle execution across multiple stakeholders.
• CRCM, CAMS, or equivalent certification a plus.
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and excitement about regulatory compliance and partner banking.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compliance testing, both across Column’s products and services and at the Bank’s partners, as a contributor to Column’s Compliance Testing & Monitoring Program.
• Clearly document assessment findings, and own the drafting and reporting of results derived from the Compliance Testing Program.
• Identify potential areas of weakness within the Bank, and work with partners to strengthen the control environment.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure new requirements are understood and implemented before their effective dates.

The Opportunity:

Column's Compliance team plays a critical role in ensuring the Bank grows safely. As a Compliance Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the Compliance Testing function, leveraging regulatory compliance expertise to ensure our fintech partners’ programs are compliant and sustainable and meet the Bank’s expectations. This is a cross-functional role, working with both first- and second-line colleagues and interfacing directly with our fintech partners. This means exposure to a range of products, business models, and regulatory questions you won’t find at a traditional bank. This role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about regulatory compliance and wants hands‑on experience testing a wide variety of fintech products, partners, and business models to accelerate their compliance career.

This role is a fixed-term contract, remote position with an initial contract duration of six months and the potential to extend based on performance.

What you'll do:

• Conduct compliance testing, both across Column’s products and services and at the Bank’s partners, as a contributor to Column’s Compliance Testing & Monitoring Program

• Clearly document assessment findings, and own the drafting and reporting of results derived from the Compliance Testing Program

• Identify potential areas of weakness (inadequate/ineffective controls, areas of non-compliance, etc.) within the Bank, and work with partners to strengthen the associated control environment

• Monitor, interpret, and assess potential regulatory changes that may impact the Bank. Work with business, risk, and legal partners to ensure new regulatory requirements are clearly understood and processes are in place before their effective dates

What you'll need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience

• 3+ years in compliance or audit; experience at a regulated financial institution is a plus

• Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

• Experience navigating banking regulations and applying rules to the Bank’s products

• Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to juggle execution across multiple stakeholders

• Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), or equivalent certification a plus

• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and excitement about regulatory compliance and partner banking

Pay transparency:

The US hourly rate range for this role is $45.00-$55.00. This position is non-exempt, meaning individuals in this role will be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with California labor law.

A candidate’s position within this pay range will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s skill sets, experience, licensure and certifications, location, and other business and organizational needs.
