Job Description

Wise is looking for a Compliance Advisory Senior Manager to join its growing financial crime compliance oversight team in North America. This role will work alongside the board-appointed AML / BSA Officer and a highly effective team in second line compliance.

In this role, you will be responsible for effectively mitigating financial crime risks through maintaining adequate systems and controls. This position requires close partnership with our financial crime compliance operational and product teams, with opportunities to present to senior stakeholders and shape the strategic direction of the compliance program.

Your Mission :
  1. Supervise measures to ensure financial crime risks are considered in daily operations.
  2. Provide advice and guidance on BSA, AML / CTF, OFAC sanctions regulations, and Wise policies to teams and stakeholders regionally and globally.
  3. Support the development and maintenance of the compliance oversight framework and North America AML and Sanctions policies.
  4. Prepare quarterly compliance reports for the board of Wise US Inc. and Wise Plc.
  5. Challenge first line teams on controls, approve control changes, new products, or features.
  6. Represent compliance oversight to regulators, auditors, and partners, showcasing Wise’s compliance framework.
  7. Ensure strong oversight of AML, Fraud, Sanctions, KYC / CDD, and EDD operations.
  8. Serve on the US SAR committee, providing feedback to the FinCEN Reporting Team.
  9. Contribute to the Financial Crime Risk Assessment.
  10. Monitor new FinCrime regulations and oversee their implementation.
  11. Identify key risks and collaborate with teams on mitigation plans.
A Bit About You :
  • You are an expert in US financial crime regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, NY DFS Part 504, with experience in compliance either in-house or as a consultant.
  • You have experience designing and challenging processes across multiple products, aligning with Wise's mission.
  • You are solution-oriented, with a passion for improving practices and developing compliance frameworks.
  • You communicate effectively, conveying complex ideas clearly to internal and external audiences.
  • You work well under pressure, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple projects.
  • You have meticulous attention to detail.
  • You are a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • You are willing to travel to other offices as needed.
  • You are legally authorized to work in the US; visas cannot be provided.
  • This is a full-time, non-remote position based in New York City or Austin, TX.
Nice to haves :
  • Certifications like CAMS or CGSS.
  • Experience with risk assessments, QA/QC on SARs, or filing SARs/OFAC reports electronically.
  • Experience training or mentoring junior team members.
