Job summary

GEO Group Secured Services is seeking a compliance and accreditation subject matter specialist to oversee the Compliance Department. You will develop assessment tools, communicate guidelines, and represent the organization in audits.

Responsibility includes interpreting criteria, ensuring policies, training staff on the Quality Control Program, and maintaining documentation for accreditation programs. Travel up to 60% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field with 3 years corrections experience.
• Equivalent: high school diploma with 5 years corrections experience.
• Experience in compliance, accreditation, and quality management desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to present to employees at all levels.
• May be required to travel up to 60% of the time.
• Ability to work with computers and common software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Compliance Department as a subject matter expert.
• Create and update assessment tools to monitor compliance activities.
• Communicate rules, regulations, and guidelines to stakeholders.
• Represent the organization during compliance and accreditation audits.

Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities:

As a compliance and accreditation subject matter specialist, you will oversee the Compliance Department. Some of your key functions will be creating and updating assessment tools to monitor the success of compliance activities, communicating rules, regulations, and guidelines to relevant stakeholders, and representing the organization during compliance and accreditation audits. In this role, you will:

• Interpret compliance and accreditation criteria based on organization, client, or third-party requirements.
• Ensure policies and procedures adhere to organizational, client or third-party guidelines.
• Develop effective assessment tools to identify compliance issues; report and document findings, and recommend improvements.
• Conduct daily reviews of security services.
• Serve as back-up auditor for food service and healthcare services.
• Supervise, train, guide, and support other Compliance Auditors.
• Work with department managers to evaluate and ensure compliance with organization, client, or third-party requirements.
• Collect and report facility data to accreditation organizations.
• Provide the facility with information on accreditation issues.
• Effectively implement the Quality Control Program (QCP) and train employees on it.
• Maintain database and paper documentation on the facility’s compliance and accreditation programs.

You must also demonstrate a deep understanding of operations and the ability to compare them to organizational, client, and third-party compliance and accreditation policies and guidelines. Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field along with three (3) years experience in a corrections, law enforcement or related capacity. Experience needs to demonstrate an understanding for the facility’s operations while being able to compare them to organizational, contracting client, and other outside party’s compliance and accreditation policies and guidelines.
  • (A high school diploma or GED with five (5) years of progressive experience in corrections, law enforcement or related fields may be substituted based on management’s discretion.)
• Experience in compliance, accreditation, and quality management highly desirable.
• Above average verbal and written communication. Must be able to make presentations to employees at all levels of the facility. Must be able to write cohesive and comprehensive documentation.
• May be required to travel up to 60% of the time.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently: sit.
• Occasionally: lift or carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.; bend or stoop, reach above shoulder level, drive automatic equipment vehicles, climb, walk, stand.
