Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a compliance and accreditation subject matter specialist to oversee the Compliance Department.

You will create and update assessment tools, interpret guidelines, and represent the organization during audits. Responsibilities include ensuring policies meet client and third-party requirements, reporting findings, training auditors, and maintaining documentation to support accreditation programs across facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field with 3 years experience in a corrections, law enforcement or related capacity.
  • A high school diploma or GED with five (5) years of progressive experience in corrections, law enforcement or related fields may be substituted based on management's discretion.
  • Experience in compliance, accreditation, and quality management highly desirable.
  • Above average verbal and written communication; ability to write cohesive and comprehensive documentation.
  • May be required to travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Compliance Department and update assessment tools.
  • Communicate rules, regulations, and guidelines to relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization during compliance and accreditation audits.
  • Develop effective assessment tools to identify compliance issues; report findings and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct daily reviews of security services.
  • Serve as back-up auditor for food service and healthcare services.
  • Supervise, train, guide, and support other Compliance Auditors.
  • Work with department managers to evaluate and ensure compliance with organization, client or third-party requirements.
  • Collect and report facility data to accreditation organizations.
  • Provide the facility with information on accreditation issues.
  • Effectively implement the Quality Control Program (QCP) and train employees on it.
  • Maintain database and paper documentation on the facility's compliance and accreditation programs.

Responsibilities

Role

As a compliance and accreditation subject matter specialist, you will oversee the Compliance Department. Some of your key functions will be creating and updating assessment tools to monitor the success of compliance activities, communicating rules, regulations, and guidelines to relevant stakeholders, and representing the organization during compliance and accreditation audits. In this role, you will:

Minimum Requirements

Experience needs to demonstrate an understanding for the facility's operations while being able to compare them to organizational, contracting client, and other outside party's compliance and accreditation policies and guidelines.

  • Experience in compliance, accreditation, and quality management highly desirable.
  • Above average verbal and written communication. Must be able to make presentations to employees at all levels of the facility. Must be able to write cohesive and comprehensive documentation.
  • May be required to travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally: lift or carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.; bend or stoop, reach above shoulder level, drive automatic equipment vehicles, climb, walk, stand.
