Job summary

Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) seeks a Compliance Accountant to assess the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting, coordinating annual risk analysis, documenting procedures, and testing controls to report results to the Department of Energy.

The incumbent will collaborate with management, develop control metrics, and support remediation plans while ensuring adherence to safety, health, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field.
• 7+ years’ relevant experience in accounting and compliance.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; attention to detail.
• Proficiency applying accounting principles, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with annual assessment of internal controls, including documenting procedures and testing controls.
• Coordinate risk assessments and define scope for internal control testing.
• Develop test plans and validate controls against DOE requirements.
• Support remediation actions and annual assurance reporting to DOE.
