Job summary

HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services, a part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Complex Specimen Processor PRN to join a hospital-based laboratory team. You will help receive, process, and prepare specimens for testing, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of results.

Responsibilities include labeling, centrifuging, documentation, and troubleshooting specimen and referral issues. A High School Diploma or GED is required with 1–3 years of lab experience and patient-age range familiarity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational/Technical diploma beneficial.
• 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
• Experience with patients across age groups from infancy to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens into the laboratory information system; process, sort, and prepare specimens for referral laboratories.
• Label specimens and aliquots according to protocols.
• Centrifuge and aliquot specimens.
• Prepare specimens for courier pick-up.
• Maintain records/documents related to specimen issues and corrective actions.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Seeking a hospital based Complex Specimen Processor like you to provide expertise and champion results. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels the patient experience is as meaningful as we do.

You Will:

• Receive of laboratory specimens into the laboratory information system; Process, sort, and prepare specimens for submission to referral laboratories
• Label specimens and aliquots according to established protocols and according to testing ordered
• Centrifuge and aliquots specimens
• Prepare specimens for courier pick-up
• Keep appropriate records/documentation relating to specimen problems and take corrective action to ensure validity and accuracy of testing
• Assess specimen requirements for referral testing and troubleshoot any specimen requirement and/or referral testing specimen or order entry issues
• Review Outstanding Specimen Report (OSR) and pending referral testing issues

You Should Have:

• A completed High School Diploma or GED
• A Vocational/Technical diploma is beneficial
• 1-3 years of experience in a market or commercial clinical laboratory setting
• A wide range of experience with patients in all age groups from infancy to geriatrics
