HHM Hotels’ Courtyard San Diego Downtown and Carte, Curio Collection by Hilton seek a Complex Senior Staff Accountant to manage accounting activities, reconcile ledgers, and prepare monthly financial reports for multiple properties. The position requires collaboration with property teams, adherence to policies, and proactive communication to ensure timely and precise financial information.

Qualifications

• Formal training in accounting required.
• Hospitality experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with Excel.
• Ability to exercise judgment in the absence of the controller.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review ledger account reconciliations including bank accounts, prepaid and other assets, liabilities and credit cards.
• Prepare and review general ledger entries and present financial reports on a monthly basis.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of various schedules and supporting documents as required.
• Assist with other accounting team activities and communicate with team members and property-level associates.
• Follow sustainability guidelines related to HHM's EarthView program.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and review ledger account reconciliations including bank accounts, prepaid and other assets, liabilities and credit cards.
• Monitor coding to ensure accuracy.
• Adhere to internal financial controls as directed by the Company's Sarbanes-Oxley narratives, including sales journal verifications, bank, general ledger and subsidiary ledger account reconciliations, revenue testing, and other tests and procedures as required.
• Prepare and/or review general ledger entries and present financial reports on a monthly basis.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of various schedules and supporting documents as required.
• Assist with other accounting team activities as required, communicating both verbally and in writing with team members and property-level associates.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Position Requirements

• Formal training in accounting required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or business preferred.
• Prior hospitality related experience preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate skills with Excel.
• Ability to exercise judgment in the absence of the controller or assistant controller is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment and Context

• Requires sitting for extended periods, use of hands and fingers to operate computers and keyboards.
• May require extended work hours and work on holidays or weekends to meet key deadlines.
