VRC (Valuation Research Corporation) is seeking an analyst for its complex securities valuation practice in San Francisco. You will value derivatives and other illiquid securities for financial reporting, tax, and regulatory needs, using rigorous modeling and client data gathering.

You will develop quantitative models, perform statistical analyses, and assist in client reports and presentations. The role emphasizes analytical skills, Excel proficiency, and progression toward CFA designations,

Qualifications

• 0-2 years work experience in a financial analysis role, including valuation of derivatives and complex securities
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics; CFA progression a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; clear written and verbal communication
• Progress towards CFA designations; advanced Excel skills; programming in Python/R/MATLAB a plus
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and work flexible hours

Responsibilities

• Work with financial models using lattice, option pricing, Monte Carlo and other advanced methods
• Develop quantitative models to value unique financial instruments
• Perform statistical and data analyses using accepted approaches
• Gather and document data obtained through client interaction
• Assist in preparing formal client reports and presentation materials
