Wintermeyer Ventures is seeking a California-based litigation defense attorney to join a team handling high-exposure personal injury matters. You will manage complex cases, develop strategy, handle discovery and depositions, and participate in trials and mediations in a hybrid Los Angeles office two days per week.

The role offers a base salary of 125,000 to 185,000 per year and requires California Bar admission; visa sponsorship is not available.

About the Role

Join a California litigation defense team handling high-exposure personal injury matters. You will work on complex cases involving transportation, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death, contributing to litigation strategy and case outcomes throughout all phases of the legal process.

What You'll Do

• Manage a caseload of complex personal injury defense matters, including automotive, trucking, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death cases.
• Propound and respond to written discovery, and manage discovery through all stages of litigation.
• Independently take and defend depositions.
• Attend court hearings, develop litigation strategy, and participate in motion practice.
• Contribute to mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
• Communicate proactively with clients throughout the course of litigation.

What We're Looking For

• Two to seven years of civil litigation defense experience, ideally in personal injury or complex tort matters.
• A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Experience managing discovery, including written discovery and depositions.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to manage a caseload independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with high-exposure catastrophic injury, trucking, or automotive cases is valued.
• Experience participating in trials, mediations, arbitrations, court appearances, or motion practice is beneficial.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual base salary: $125,000 to $185,000. Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Location

Hybrid role based in Los Angeles, California, with an expectation of working in the office two days per week.
