Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment by following OC safety policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement to safety, housekeeping and zero-injury culture.
  • Identify and drive improvements through standardized work for cost and productivity.
  • Set clear performance expectations and ensure results with direct reports.
  • Analyze performance metrics and implement efficiency, quality and cost improvements.
  • Provide accountability and guidance to frontline leadership and hourly teams.
  • Utilize loss tracking to identify trends and take corrective actions.
  • Operate with zero environmental non-conformities in line with policies.
  • Ensure quality systems deliver consistent products meeting specs.
  • Deploy effective employee relations practices and build partnerships.
  • Collaborate with peers to understand processes and meet customer expectations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Live the Safety Stand


  • Ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to OC safety policies and procedures

  • Drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety and housekeeping Know and communicate safety message with focus on developing zero injury culture



Manage Operations


  • Identifies and drives continuous improvement efforts through standardized work to improve cost, increase year-over-year productivity and reduce quality related issues for our customers

  • Sets clear and measurable performance expectations, in line with plant goals; communicating and ensuring results are achieved for self and direct reports

  • Proactively analyzes and manages all relative operations performance metrics making improvements to efficiencies, quality and cost

  • Provides clear expectations and accountability to effectively lead frontline leadership and hourly teams.

  • Effectively leverages loss tracking systems to identify trends and implement corrective actions.

  • Operate with zero environmental non-conformities to applicable company, government and regulatory policies

  • Ensure the quality systems are utilized to provide a consistent product that meets manufacturing specifications

  • Ensure effective deployment of employee/labor relations practices (building strong partnership)



Talent Development/Employee Relations


  • Set clear and measurable performance expectations for self and direct reports aligning with the Kansas CityPlant, Division and Corporate goals

  • Establish an engaged workforce characterized by mutual trust, open communications, teamwork, and recognition

  • Create and sustain a culture where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation and utilization of people

  • Maintain documentation, track, counsel and execute coaching and corrective action when performance issues occur



Customer Focus


  • Partner with peers, manufacturing engineers, process engineers, etc to clearly understand process and customers so that Kansas Citycan meet/exceed customer expectations

  • Assists in driving to zero defects or failures to customer



JOB REQUIREMENTS


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related discipline required

  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience leading people in a complex manufacturing environment



EXPERIENCE


  • Experience leading in a union environment preferred

  • Six Sigma certification and Lean manufacturing experience preferred

  • Willingness to relocate in the future with OC

  • Ability to compile and utilize data and/or Six Sigma methods for problem-solving and decision-making to eliminate manufacturing losses and unnecessary costs
