Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive coverage opinions and provide strategic guidance to insurer clients.
• Manage all aspects of insurance coverage litigation from pleadings through trial preparation.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, arbitration, and mediation.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, motions, and other filings.
• Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and firm leadership on complex issues and strategy.

A law firm seeks a Complex Insurance Coverage Attorney in Newport Beach, California. The successful candidate will counsel insurer clients on complex coverage issues and manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.

Duties

• Analyze and interpret insurance policies, including primary, excess, and specialty lines.
• Prepare comprehensive coverage opinions and provide strategic legal guidance to insurer clients.
• Manage all aspects of insurance coverage litigation, from pleadings and motion practice through trial preparation.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and mediation proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and draft persuasive memoranda, briefs, motions, and other substantive legal documents.
• Collaborate closely with clients, opposing counsel, and firm leadership on complex legal issues and litigation strategy.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• 4-8+ years of experience in insurance coverage and/or insurance defense litigation.
• Strong analytical, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Experience with commercial general liability, professional liability, and property coverage matters is preferred but not required.
• Ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional client service.
