Description

Liberty Mutual is hiring a Senior Claims Resolution Specialist for the Personal Lines Casualty Complex team, covering the Northeast Region for auto and homeowner’s casualty claims. This role involves investigating, evaluating, and resolving cases, including high-exposure or complex coverage and liability issues. The position requires working autonomously within prescribed authority limits and handling claims involving severe injuries.

This role is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500 after 90 days for external candidates with an active All-Lines Adjuster license in Florida or Texas, with documentation and continuing education requirements.

Preference is given to candidates residing within Eastern or Central Time Zones. In-office attendance is required twice a month if within 50 miles of a Hub location. Training is essential for success, and attendance and engagement are mandatory.

The salary range posted reflects varied pay scales across Liberty Mutual regions, evaluated against your background and qualifications. We are considering candidates for three positions based on experience:

  • Senior Claims Resolution Specialist II: Accrue 1.5 flexible time off days per month, up to 15 per year.
  • Senior Claims Resolution Specialist III: Accrue 2 days per month, up to 20 per year.
Responsibilities
  • Manage, investigate, and resolve auto and homeowner’s casualty claims, including evaluating coverage, liability, damages, and settling claims within authority limits. Recommend resolutions exceeding authority to management.
  • Identify suspicious claims for SIU referral and opportunities for subrogation.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, and conferences; report status to management.
  • Consult with trial counsel and prepare reports.
  • Communicate with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants; gather information and advise on actions.
  • Respond to inquiries and ensure reserves are adequate, recommending increases when necessary.
  • Manage the security of financial and claim information.
  • Oversee practices and billing of outside and in-house counsel.
  • Assist in regulatory matters and participate in special projects or mentoring as directed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years litigation experience.
  • Expertise in handling complex personal lines claims involving severe or catastrophic injuries and fatalities.
Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of coverage, liability, and complex claims procedures.
  • Ability to handle high-technical and complex claims effectively.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least 7 years of related experience.
  • Ability to obtain necessary licensing.
