Job description

We are seeking an experienced attorney to join the firm's Family Law & Private Clients Group. This position will work closely with and support a team that includes two top ranked principals with significant experience handling a range of complex and multi-jurisdictional private client and family law matters, including high net worth divorce, international child abduction, relocation and high-conflict custody disputes, and federal and state appellate work.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in family law or complex civil litigation and family law, with experience at all stages of litigation, from initial case investigation and analysis, propounding and responding to written discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, and preparing for and handling mediations and trial. Previous family law experience is strongly , but the position is also open to candidates with civil litigation experience interested in transitioning their practice to family law.

Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with others as part of a team. We require a J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service. We are particularly interested in candidates who have the ambition and drive to help grow and support a busy practice and who work well under expedited deadlines. Candidates must demonstrate discretion when working with highly sensitive information. Maryland Bar admission is required; and D.C. Bar admission, or eligibility to be admitted on motion is required.
